The Dalai Lama has visited America and pronounced the key to happiness.
Mr. Lama has 8 million Twitter followers but he doesn’t personally do the tweeting. I guess he must have a staff that tweets for him. Do any of you follow him on Twitter? What does he normally talk about?
Anyway, the key to happiness according to the Dalai Lama is, “More compassionate mind, more sense of concern for other’s well–being, is the source of happiness.”
“Self–centered attitudes are at the root of unhappiness.”
“Too much self–centered attitudes, you see, brings, you see, isolation.”
Is he right? Well, he must be a good networker and connector.
He’s basically espousing the mantra of the Southeast Business Forums—be a giver and not a taker. Ask anyone who is a connector whether they are happy. I’m a connector and I’m very happy.
Overall, I think Nashville is a very happy town. I’ve never seen so many compassionate people than here in Nashville. The giving spirit is alive and unsurpassed.
Perhaps we should invite the Dalai Lama to visit Nashville and meet our citizens. Meeting the Dalai Lama certainly helped Carl Spackler achieve a higher level of happiness.
Good luck, good networking, and remember, don’t worry—be happy.
