(Are you answering your calls?)
At Good People Creative, we practice what we preach. From the beginning days, we implemented our own Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Paid Per Click (PPC) strategy. Ninety days later, we’ve already seen a return on our initial investment, a big return.
Recently, I received an email from a business owner needing help with SEO. I asked the business owner if he had found me online, through Facebook or other advertising efforts and he replied, “You were the first link when I searched ‘SEO Nashville’”. We continued our conversation and scheduled our first meeting. After meeting, we uncovered other parts of his marketing mix that needed attention. And truthfully this business owner needed a marketing team to oversee the brand and messaging. Three weeks from the initial email and we had earned $60,000 in business.
PPC (pay-per-click) works! I use an analogy to help educate business owners, “you can lead the horse to water, but you better make sure there’s water there.” We can all invest in PPC and get people to click. That’s the easy part. Converting an initial conversation into a new client, retail sales, recruiting a new team member is the opportunity that most overlook.
I always challenge my clients to take a strong look at the quality control of the incoming calls. Let’s pause and think of the power of the incoming call to your business. The consumer has had an event occur that entered them in the market for your product or service. They have considered options, they’ve researched you, they’ve looked at your social media and now they’ve taken that great step of picking up the phone and calling. It is vitally important to any business owner to know what that initial interactions sound like and how the next steps are clearly defined.
I digress. I pulled a report to analyze the campaign’s progress. The keyword “seo nashville” that led the client to my business cost $4.17 and generated $60,000 in revenue.
